Early morning altercation leads to dangerous fall on Northwest side

CHICAGO — A terrifying incident unfolded early Wednesday morning on Chicago’s Northwest Side when a man and woman were shoved onto the train tracks at the Harlem Blue Line station.

According to authorities, the attack happened just before 3 a.m. on the platform at the 5500 block of North Harlem. A 51-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman got into a confrontation with a male suspect, which escalated when they were allegedly pushed onto the tracks.

Emergency responders arrived quickly, transporting both victims to Resurrection Hospital. Fortunately, they were reported to be in good condition.

The suspect was taken into custody, and charges are currently pending.

The CTA reported minor delays of approximately two minutes following the incident.
