LRHS senior Lauren McGill is the state's top student athletic trainer.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - Every year the Athletic Trainers’ Association of Florida (ATAF), recognizes a student athletic trainer for their hard work throughout the year.
This year, Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS)’s Lauren McGill was selected for the 2020 ATAF High School Aide of the Year.
To win this award applicants must have met the following criteria:
- A GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale
- Be nominated by a certified and licensed athletic trainer
- Be a junior or senior
- Have the intent of pursuing the profession of athletic training
McGill has been a student athletic trainer for all four years of her high school career and will be continuing her education at Florida Atlantic University with a major in Communications Studies.
McGill said on the @lrhs_athletic_training page on Instagram, “Student athletic training has taught me responsibility and has given valuable lessons I will carry with me into my college career.”
