A bomb threat targeting Simi Valley High School on April 24, 2024, prompted a swift and coordinated response from law enforcement and emergency services, leading to the evacuation of students and staff while authorities conducted a thorough search of the campus.

At 8:39 AM, Simi Valley Police Communications received a distressing call from an unidentified individual claiming there was a bomb at Simi Valley High School. Without hesitation, multiple officers were dispatched to the scene, initiating a comprehensive containment operation of the campus and its surrounding vicinity.

In a testament to interagency cooperation, the Simi Valley Police Department received invaluable assistance from various agencies. Two K9 units from the Beverly Hills Police Department joined forces with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department's rapid response Bomb Squad, the Ventura County Fire Department, including their Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS) unit, and AMR with ambulances and their mass casualty truck.

Over several hours, officers and K9 units meticulously combed through every inch of the school grounds, scouring both indoor and outdoor areas for any sign of an explosive device. Despite the exhaustive efforts, no evidence of a bomb was discovered.

Simi Valley Police Detectives have since launched a thorough investigation into the incident, striving to uncover the origins of the threat and hold those responsible accountable.

Meanwhile, the Simi Valley Unified School District issued a reassuring statement to the community, confirming the safety of all students and staff during the ordeal. Following the evacuation to the high school's stadium and the subsequent clearance of the campus, normalcy resumed, with students returning to their classrooms.

The district emphasized the importance of keeping contact information up to date in the Aeries system to ensure timely receipt of emergency notifications. Furthermore, they underscored the gravity of threats made against schools, urging parents and guardians to remind their children of the seriousness of such actions.
