Authorities Offer Reward in Search for Hit-and-Run Driver Who Fatally Struck Woman in Los Angeles

The search continues for a hit-and-run driver responsible for fatally striking a woman in Los Angeles last October, and authorities are now offering a substantial cash reward for information leading to an arrest.

According to a community alert issued by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the tragic incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. on October 29, 2023, on Long Beach Avenue near 48th Place in L.A.'s Central-Alameda neighborhood.

The victim, identified as Dianna Hernandez by LAPD, was walking along Long Beach Avenue when she was struck by the suspect's vehicle, which authorities described as a white 2003-2006 Ford Expedition.

Following the collision, the suspect fled the scene in their vehicle, heading south down Long Beach Avenue from 48th Place.

In an effort to bring justice to the victim and her family, LAPD investigators are now offering a $50,000 reward for information that leads to the identification, arrest, and prosecution of the suspect, who faces a felony hit-and-run charge.

Individuals with information regarding the October hit-and-run are urged to contact LAPD Officer Balderas or Detective Ramirez with the Central Traffic Division at 213-833-8713. After business hours and on weekends, information can be provided to the Central Traffic Division Watch Commander at 213-833-3746.
