The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office has made significant strides in combating organized retail theft after uncovering a large-scale operation spanning from Sacramento to the South Bay. Thirteen suspects have been apprehended in East San Jose, with authorities recovering an estimated $150,000 worth of stolen merchandise, including goods from prominent retailers like Home Depot, Target, Kohl's, Lowe's, Macy's, and Sunglass Hut.
According to the Sheriff's Office, search warrants executed earlier this month revealed the extent of the illicit operation. Inside one of the targeted homes, investigators encountered an arrangement resembling a Home Depot aisle, underscoring the scale and audacity of the theft ring. Additionally, authorities seized two box truckloads of stolen merchandise linked to the organized theft network.
Sheriff's officials emphasized a firm stance against organized retail theft, stressing that such criminal activities will not be tolerated in Santa Clara County. The successful operation underscores the Sheriff's Office's ongoing commitment to collaborate with businesses and law enforcement partners to disrupt theft rings and bring perpetrators to justice.
