South Bend law enforcement officers took swift action on Wednesday, apprehending three juveniles after they were discovered in possession of firearms on the city's west side.

The incident unfolded around 5 p.m. in the vicinity of Ford Street and Bendix Drive, where South Bend Police observed suspicious activity. Upon noticing the presence of the three teens, officers attempted to initiate a stop. However, the juveniles attempted to evade authorities by fleeing the scene.

Following a brief pursuit, the individuals were successfully apprehended and subsequently transported to the Juvenile Justice Center for processing.

During the apprehension, law enforcement officers discovered one firearm in the possession of one of the juveniles. Additionally, two more firearms were recovered from the ground in the vicinity.
