Coalition of groups unite to protest at Legislative Plaza

A coalition of advocacy groups, including the Southern Christian Coalition and The Equity Alliance, will march to the Tennessee Capitol today to protest actions taken by the General Assembly during the current legislative session.

An email about the event from the Southern Christian Coalition notes:

The Equity Alliance announces the "The People vs The State of TN" march and rally, a powerful demonstration of unity and resilience in the face of legislative actions that threaten the rights and well-being of marginalized communities in Tennessee. This rallying cry against Governor Bill Lee and the Supermajority Legislature comes as a response to a legislative session that has prioritized partisan interests and self indulges over the fundamental freedoms of all Tennesseans.

The march is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Capitol Hill with a rally at Legislative Plaza to start at 3:45 PM.

Topics addressed will include:

legislature general assembly politics public policy equality
