Another woman was struck in the face in a random attack on a Manhattan street, marking the 13th such occurrence in recent weeks, according to authorities.
According to the NYPD, on March 20, at about 4:30 p.m., a guy approached a 33-year-old lady from behind and struck her in the face near Union Square Park. The victim had minor injuries and declined first aid treatment at the scene.
According to police, the suspect fled the scene of the incident and was still at large on Friday.
Similar Attacks In NYPD's Data
According to the most recent NYPD data, six persons have already been detained and charged with assault following similar attacks. One of the culprits, Lydia Weil, 40, was arrested for two separate crimes, authorities said.
Weil reportedly shoved a lighted cigarette into the face of a 51-year-old woman on West 31st Street about 12:15 p.m. on March 27, according to authorities. The victim sustained burns on his neck and face.
Five days later, Weil allegedly kicked a 22-year-old woman in the thigh as she walked into the Moynihan train station, according to police.
Weil pleaded not guilty after his recent hearing in Manhattan court. Her attorney could not be reached immediately on Friday.
Several Citizens Shared Videos On Social Media
Several ladies shared videos on TikTok claiming they were hit in the head while strolling in New York City.
Halley Kate, a TikTok star with 1.1 million followers, recently shared a video outlining how she was suddenly raped. In the video, she stated that the punch knocked her to the ground. Kate had a big lump on her head in the video.
Skiboky Stora, 40, was detained in connection with the incident. Stora allegedly punched Kate in the head and knocked her to the ground as she went down West 16th Street in Chelsea, according to police. According to Kate's TikTok video, Stora was walking his dog when the attack occurred.
According to authorities, Stora has previously been accused of attacking women.
