Deputies with the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle on Thursday Night around 9:30pm, but the vehicle failed to stop. After a short pursuit on surface streets, the driver of the fleeing vehicle crashed near the intersection of Hollister Ave and Magnolia Ave. As pursuing Deputies arrived to the crashed Cadillac Sedan, they discovered it was the only vehicle involved in the crash, and the suspected two occupants had already fled.

Deputies requested the assistance of a K9 Unit and Air Support to attempt to locate the suspects while witnesses pointed deputies in the direction of the fleeing suspects. Upon searching the vehicle, Deputies located a firearm.

After about 20 minutes of searching for the suspects, a citizen in Solvang called to report their vehicle had been stolen from their workplace, and it ended up being the Cadillac that was now crashed in Goleta.

Deputies were unsuccessful at locating the suspects.
