Several suspected migrants were apprehended by police after they were discovered squatting with weapons and drugs in a Bronx home's basement.
The major arrest took place last Wednesday after authorities got a tip about an armed man who was walking close to a school.
Hector Desousa Villata, 24, is said to be from Venezuela; according to officials, they chased him into the house on Hull Avenue.
Police Arrested Eight Migrants
Along with seven other alleged migrants, he was taken into custody there by the police. One individual, Javier Alborno, 22, attempted to leave the area with a firearm but was apprehended right away.
Upon obtaining a search warrant, the authorities discovered a bag containing cocaine and ketamine intermingled with two more loaded weapons, three loaded extended magazines, and ammo.
In the house was also a child, seven years old.
Criminal Possession Of Weapon
Criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and acting in a way that would endanger a child were the charges brought against Desousa Villata and the other individuals. According to officials, each of the two males was freed without posting bond.
When Desousa Villalta shot someone else in the leg during a dispute in Yonkers, she was already charged with attempted murder.
Six Suspects Are On Release
While six of the suspects are on release, the scope of the criminal activity in the property is being investigated.
The Yonkers shooter who is suspected of shooting a person in the leg is currently on supervised release. A few of the individuals are also being looked at in relation to a pattern of robberies that occurred in Bergen County.
