A 70-year-old woman's body was discovered inside a trash bag inside a high-rise apartment building in the Bronx, New York City, and four persons were detained for interrogation.
Just before 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, police were called to the Grand Concourse Avenue incident in Mott Haven, according to the New York Daily News. The victim, who was staying at the Bronx apartment with family, is from Georgia.
At the scene, the woman was declared deceased by the first responders and medical team.
The Victim Was Found By Her Daughter-In-Law
According to the authorities, the victim was found by her daughter-in-law, whose mother is the apartment's registered tenant.
Three of the victim's relatives, two men, and two women, were freed after being questioned by the police.
According to authorities, Inga Bearden, 53, was accused of hiding a corpse, a crime, as reported by the New York Daily News. It's unknown how Bearden and the victim are related.
Medical Examiners Said There Were No Indications of Physical Violence On Her Body
While they await the findings of the autopsy to ascertain the cause of death, authorities stated that there were no indications of physical violence on the body.
The 52-year-old Nadia Vitel was discovered tucked inside a duffel bag in her residence in the Kips Bay neighborhood a few days before this finding. After departing New York in Vitel's pilfered SUV and crashing it, two squatters were taken into custody in Pennsylvania.
The medical examiner will ascertain the woman's cause of death as there are no obvious symptoms of trauma. The lady was visiting family from Georgia.
