If the Brooklyn subway shooting wasn't enough drama for the Big Apple this week, there was another not even a full day after. Two people got shot in Thompkins Square Park in the East Village in Manhattan around 1 pm yesterday, April 16th, 2024. A man in his 30s was shot in the buttocks, and a woman in her 50s was shot in the hip. Both were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The police are searching for the shooter, who was wearing a black ski mask and a black hoodie - ugh, finding them would be a quest. It was unclear who was the target as stray bullets hit the victims. The witnesses reported that a total of 5 gunshots were fired.

While this is a tragedy, if I were shot in the butt, I'd find it 1% funny and 99% horrific. Can you imagine the stories you could tell your grandkids? Anyway, I genuinely hope both victims will recover soon and get back to their lives and that the shooter will be caught.
