CHP Motor Officer Injured in Accident on Highway 101 South of Buellton

Update: According to Santa Barbara County Fire, the male officer was transported by CALSTAR to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with moderate injuries. According to Flight Data, CALSTAR went to Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria.

A California Highway Patrol Motor Officer was involved in a accident early Thursday Afternoon.

California Highway Patrol, Santa Barbara County Sheriff, Santa Barbara County Fire, American Medical Response - Santa Barbara County, and CALSTAR Medical Helicopter all responded to the officer.

The accident happened in the southbound lanes on the south side of the Nojoqui Summit, just south of Buellton.

Firefighters are currently setting up a Landing Zone for CALSTAR to land and transport the Officer.

CHP has also requested Caltrans close a lane in the area.

No additional information is known at this time regarding if any other vehicles or the condition of the officer.
