SANTA ANA, CA- A 38-year-old man, identified as Johnell Marquise Jackson, has been apprehended on charges of attempted murder among other firearm-related offenses following a shooting incident near a 99 Cents store in Santa Ana. The arrest was made in Buena Park on Monday, a day after the shooting that resulted in a man being wounded in the forearm while sitting in a car outside the store located at 1514 N. Main St., according to reports from the Santa Ana Police Department.

The incident, which occurred on Sunday night, prompted an immediate response from the local police to St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, where the victim sought emergency care. Officer Natalie Garcia of the Santa Ana Police Department shared with The Orange County Register that a witness observed the assailant fleeing the scene in a white Ford Explorer. The motivation behind the shooting remains unclear, including whether the victim was the intended target of the attack.

The Santa Ana Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, with Officer Garcia providing updates on the ongoing case. The community is urged to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation.
