A Lompoc Man was arrested Tuesday after a brief standoff with Santa Barbara County Sheriff Deputies.
At about 9:45am, deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 3800-block of Via Isla in the Mission Hills area of Unincorporated Lompoc for a report of a wanted man inside a residence. The man, identified as 27-year-old, Eric Alexander Elijah Silva, had an outstanding Ramey Warrant for domestic violence offenses.
When Deputies arrived, they learned the suspect was still inside the residence with a dog and a 6-month-old child. Deputies attempted to reach the man by phone and via loudspeaker, but the suspect did not exit the residence. At one point, the suspect was observed holding the child, while peering out a window.
While awaiting assistance from Santa Barbara County Air Support as well as Animal Services, Silva attempted to flee alone out of the back door of the residence. Deputies quickly apprehended Silva and placed him into custody. The Child was not physically harmed in this incident and did not require medical attention.
Silva was arrested and booked at the Northern Branch Jail for five separate Felony Charges: Domestic Violence, False Imprisonment, Child Cruelty, Preventing a Victim from Calling 911, and Preventing or Dissuading a Witness. Silva is held on $100,000 Bail.
According to the Law Office of Stephen G Rodriguez and Partners, a Ramey Warrant is an arrest warrant signed and issued by a judge which is used by law enforcement to detain and interview a suspect in hopes of obtaining incriminating statements or evidence.
