(Alabama)- According to WAKA, 16-year-old Alabama teen Michael Cole Jr.'s body was located just before 11 PM on Jan. 29, 2024, and authorities arrested two in connection to his case.
An article posted by WSFA provided information about the two suspects involved in Cole's case by stating:
The suspects, identified in court documents as 18-year-olds Nicholas Treyvon King-Sheppard and Nedvin Maynard Jones, Jr., are charged with felony murder and are being held without bail at the Montgomery Cty. Detention Facility.
Now, more information has been given to the public as to what happened to Cole on the night of Jan. 25, 2024. During the hearing, Detective A.C. Patterson spent close to an hour testifying.
Patterson testified that Cole was with Jones and King-Sheppard, plus two others, when he was killed on Jan. 25. The detective said the five had shot into a house on Gaston Avenue. Patterson said based on statements from the suspects, it was believed that the person who lived at that home had stolen guns from one of them. However, no one was home when they shot into it, he said. Patterson testified that Cole was accidentally shot in the back of the head during the incident.
When Cole's body was discovered, his body was severely burned, and the seat cushions in his car were missing. Blood was also found on the floorboard and seat belt.
Under Aniah's Law, Judge Reid has until Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, to grant or deny bail to both suspects.
