Houston Police Department unveiled a composite sketch of an unidentified suspect sought in connection with the shooting of a 23-year-old Houston woman in December.
According to HPD, the incident occurred on December 18, 2023 at 6318 Thrush Drive around 11:20 p.m. The suspect is characterized as a black male, aged approximately 25 to 30 years, exhibiting a slender build, and sporting small dreads or braids. The released composite sketch and surveillance video spotlight the suspect's vehicle, believed to be an early 2000s Honda Civic.
Following the incident, the victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital and is anticipated to recover from the inflicted gunshot wound. HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective Z. Brumley detailed the sequence of events, stating that HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call outside a residence at the specified address. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim with a gunshot wound, and Houston Fire Department paramedics facilitated her swift transport to the hospital.
Further investigations revealed that the victim had been shot by an unidentified assailant, prompting her to seek refuge at a neighbor's residence, who subsequently dialed 9-1-1. As of now, the motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
