Dating and Stashing

You might have been dating someone for a while and though you want to take the next step, you might have one issue. You might have the issue that your partner is stashing you or in other words, not introducing you to any of their family or friends and won't post your relationship on social media. So, what do you do if your partner is stashing you? How do you approach this type of situation? Though the answers to these questions may be different for everyone, here are a few suggestions.

1. Discuss this issue with your partner.

Talk to your partner about this issue and let him or her know how you feel about the issue. Try to listen to how your partner feels about this issue and do your best to find a solution that works for both of you.

2. Stop publicly showing recognition of your relationship.

If he or she won't let you meet his or her friends and family or post you on social media, start doing the same. Maybe, he or she doesn't know how that feels, and maybe, if he or she experiences that, he or she will reconsider and begin to understand the importance of these things.

3. Move on.

Obviously, if your date continues to do the same things without changing, it will be very difficult to move forward with him or her. So, in this case, it might be better to find someone else to share your time with before getting too deep into a relationship that won't move forward.

If you have been dating someone for a while but he or she is stashing you, talk to him or her about this issue. Try removing him or her from events with your friends and family to see if he or she understands why those things are important, or if he or she continues to do the same thing, move on.
