You might have been looking for someone for a while and though you might really want a relationship, you might find that the only reason that you want one is so you have someone during the winter months. So, what do you do if you only want a date to keep you cozy during the cold months? How do you approach this type of situation? Though the answers to these questions may be different for everyone, here are a few suggestions.

1. Figure out why you aren't okay being alone.

Try to analyze why you think you need to be in a relationship. Are you lonely? Do you just want someone to do activities with? If this is the case, try to find other ways to socialize first, so you don't lead someone on.

2. Spend more time with family and friends.

Instead of falling into a new relationship, see if spending time with your family and friends helps cure your winter blues. You might find that you just wanted someone else to be around and that you didn't really want the responsibility that comes with being in a relationship.

3. Try something new.

Instead of doing the same things over and over again, try to find new activities that grab your attention. Doing something new might help you expand your horizons and it might take your mind off of dating.

If you are looking to get in a relationship during the holiday season just so you don't have to be alone, try other approaches first. Analyze why you think you need a new relationship, try spending more time with family and friends, and try something new. You might find that you just needed something to occupy your mind and that a relationship wasn't necessary after all.
