In a depressing speech to California Republicans, Former President Donald Trump advocated for killing shoplifters and declared, "this country will die!" if Joe Biden was still in office.

According to the Associated Press, Trump also criticized the wealthy Beverly Hills homeowners in his speech to GOP members for smelling bad due to water denials and repeated election fraud allegations.

"We will immediately stop all of the pillaging and theft. Very simply: If you rob a store, you can fully expect to be shot as you are leaving that store," Trump warned. "Shot!"

The language reflects Trump's tough-on-crime stance but also increases the emphasis on punishment.

In the past, Trump has suggested murdering migrants to prevent them from entering the US.

According to the former defense secretary Mark Esper, Trump asked about shooting George Floyd demonstrators.

According to the Associated Press, he also suggested applying the death penalty to drug dealers, cop murders, and human traffickers.

Other GOP presidential contenders were present as well.

Although it seems improbable that Californians would choose a Republican in the general election, any GOP contender who wins the state's primary will have an easier time getting the party's nomination.

About 169 delegates are up for grabs in California, and a revolutionary rule change might offer Trump, who is leading the GOP pack, an advantage.

According to this new rule, should Trump win more than 50% of California's primary vote, he would receive all of the state's delegates.

The passionate pleas to voters align with Trump's attempts to set himself apart from his Republican rivals, none of whom seem likely to defeat him in the primary.

In an apparent bid to win over laborers in a crucial election state, he chose to rally in Michigan this week rather than participate in a GOP debate, according to AP.
