At the beginning of August, I wrote about our dining experience at Deuce's Dinet at Chuckchansi Casino. If you haven't tried it, do so at your next visit.
Today, I'm reviewing the Noodle Bar, an Asian bistro that mixes up a host of Eastern culinary dishes to offer you a dining experience that you will remember.
It features Chinese, Korean, and Thai cuisines for you to choose from, which makes, as I said above, quite a dining experience.
Patti and I went there one night when we decided that Deuce's Diiner wasn't what we were looking for in food.
Although there was a wait of about an hour, I will say it was worth the 60 minutes.
Once seated, we chose the bar, which helped us get seated faster. The table wait would be another 25-45 minutes, so the bar it is. Sitting at the bad turned out to be great.
Asian Chicken Wings
We started with Asian Chicken Wings. I asked to keep the sesame seeds off due to an allergy.
The wings had a healthy amount of Gochugang sauce covering them, making for a spicy take on chicken wings. The wings underneath the sauce were crispy, how we like them. I'm not too fond of it when they come with soggy or over-cooked skin. These were perfect.
The sauce tasted homemade, but I'm not sure. The wings were served hot on a platter for Patti and me to share. We didn't even have to mention that we were sharing the wings; they automatically brought out two plates. We've been to some restaurants where they bring the wings out, and since I'm ordering them, they figure they are for me, and I'm not sharing. The Noodle Bar server got it right on the first try.
Main Course
Patti went with the Cashew Chicken, which included snow peas, bean sprouts, red pepper, baby corn, and zucchini with a brown sauce and cashew nuts.
Patti bragged about the chicken, how tender and juicy it was, and the flavor of the brown sauce. It made my mouth water, and I wish I had ordered that.
I went with the Kung Pao Chicken. It consisted of tender and juicy chunks of chicken breast with green and red peppers, zucchini with a brown sauce, and peanuts, which I asked to leave off since I'm allergic to them, as well as sesame seeds, which they offered as an alternative. Nice touch!
The sauce wasn't what I expected. I was expecting a spicy brown sauce, but it wasn't as spicy as in other restaurants. Then again, that's what you get when so many different cooking styles are intertwined. I'm not complaining; the sauce was full of flavor, and I would order it again and recommend it when you visit.
