Jermiera Ivory Fowler, a 31-year-old Alabama woman, was discovered on Thursday night after she failed to return home from a meetup arranged allegedly through Facebook Marketplace.
According to Birmingham police. Fowler had been reported missing since Wednesday afternoon. Tragically, authorities revealed that Fowler had been unearth. While initially focusing on the Facebook Marketplace meetup, the police have uncovered additional information that suggests other factors may have been involved.
Officer Truman Fitzgerald from the Birmingham Police clarified, "We have not ruled out the Facebook Marketplace meetup, but our detectives have uncovered new facts that suggest it may not be the sole focus of the investigation."
No arrests have been made thus far in connection with the case. It is a disturbing and distressing incident that highlights the potential dangers of online transactions and the importance of personal safety measures.
