With only a few weeks in office, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs announced her plan to transport migrants to other cities. Her announcement brought a lot of backlash from people since her plan is very similar to former Governor Doug Ducey's. Ducey copied similar methods that Governor Greg Abbott did when he started busing migrants to Washington, D.C. last April.

Governor Ducey first began busing migrants on May 11, 2022.

Before Hobbs came into office, many wondered what new plan she was going to have for border towns in the state.

You already knew she was against the shipping containers that Ducey used. The Federal government also didn’t like them and the former governor was forced to take them down.

Governor Hobbs said:

"We just wanted to make sure that we were addressing this issue and, as I talked about many times in the campaign, in a way that was the best use of taxpayer resources and something that wasn't a political stunt."

There is one difference with Governor Hobbs’ plan. She will now use a chartered 737 plane to fly migrants to their desired destinations.

Arizona lawmakers have budgeted $15 million to support migrants.

After her State of the State address which was after President Joe Biden visited El Paso, Texas, Governor Hobbs said:

I am encouraged by the White House’s recent actions to finally visit the border and to start proposing real steps to begin addressing the problems of the current system. And while optimistic, I will continue to push Congress to do its job and pass comprehensive immigration reform.”

Do you think Governor Hobbs’ plan to send migrants to other cities is similar to Governor Ducey’s plan?
