North Carolina Police alerted the public about a string of overdoses, at least one of which was linked to a Fentanyl laced lollipop. The rash of overdoses happened last Friday at the Tyron International Equestrian Center during a bull riding event held at the facility.

According to the PCSO, there were five separate narcotic overdoses at the facility that night. At least one of which is linked to a drug-laced lollipop. No one died as a result of the overdoses.

The Sheriff's Office made it clear that they do not think this was a case of someone slipping Fentanyl to unwitting victims. The victims were all aware they were purchasing drugs. However, like many of those who take Fentanyl, they found their lives in danger.

The sheriff's office does not feel there is a risk to the general public. The incident is still under investigation and anyone with information leading to arrests could be eligible for a reward.

The Equestrian Center declined to comment as the matter is still under investigation. The Professional Bullriders Association said, "The reported overdoses at the Tryon International Equestrian Center on Friday, June 24, were not affiliated with the PBR event held on the property and did not include any PBR staff or athletes.”
