A woman from Roseville, Detroit, has died after he was allegedly abused by his babysitter.
The infant, identified as Kyrie passed, died on Wednesday morning after spending a week in the hospital.
His mother, Taylor Starks, said when she left her son in the care of her babysitter, Kimora Hodges. However, at approximately 1:50 a.m. the following day, she received a text concerned about the way her son was sleeping.
Hodges initially told Starks that Kyrie was suffering from an allergic reaction after he had ingested soap. Starks immediately rushed home.
"Once I made it there my baby was on the ground having seizure, after seizure, after seizure," she told FOX 2. The devastated mother rushed her son to the hospital.
"He had blunt force trauma to the head and he was bleeding out his ears and had to have immediate brain surgery," Starks said. "All I know is she threw my son into the wall and shook him up pretty bad and they said that's just a bit of what she did to him."
Detectives told WDIV that the suspect confessed to physically abusing the child. Hodges is charged with first degree child abuse and is being held on a $250,000 bond, no 10%.
