Indiana authorities have identified the victim of a fatal hit and run that happened just before midnight on Wednesday on N. State Road 135.

The Coroner’s Office says Andrew Benkert, 23, died in the crash. Police say he was walking along the road when he was hit by a vehicle. However, the driver fled the scene, leaving Benkert to die in the road, and also leaving behind pieces of their vehicle.
Fatal Indiana Motorcycle Crash After Police Chase
Police are on the hunt for an older black Chevrolet Trailblazer. Several pieces of the vehicle were left behind at the scene, so officers say it should have extensive front-end damage. Police released images of the debris.
