A guy's sister thought it would be a good idea to introduce him to one of her friends, and he really did hit it off with his sister's friend.
They went on 4 dates and they decided to "take turns" paying on each of their dates. So for the first date, he paid, the second date, she paid, and so on.
Two days ago, he took this girl out on date number 5, which he was supposed to pay for, but he didn't.
Everything started off decently enough, and he drove to her house to pick her up and take her out to dinner.
They ordered their food, and dinner went well, but then when they were done with their meals, this girl asked their waitress if she could have more water.
"The place was packed and the waitress passed by our table multiple times," he explained. "Instead of a friendly reminder, she told her if she's mentally declining she should be in a retirement home instead of leaving people thirsty."
"The poor woman looked like she was about to cry, she started apologizing to my date and went to get the water. I was shocked, embarrassed, and angry at the same time."
He confronted his date about her deplorable behavior, got up from the table, and headed over to their waitress to say sorry.
He then paid the waitress for what he ordered, gave her a big tip, and walked out of the place.
"After seeing how cruel she was and seeing the poor waitress on the verge of crying and apologizing to someone her daughter's age for a normal mistake I didn't want to pay for anything she ordered even though it was my turn," he added.
Yesterday morning, his sister called him up, and she was furious. She reprimanded him for leaving her friend stranded in the restaurant.
Her friend didn't have any money to pay for her food since he didn't pay for her. After he walked out, leaving her there all alone, the manager told her he was ready to call the police on her for not paying.
She was able to reach her dad, who gave her money for the meal and a ride home too. He tried to tell his sister how rude and awful her friend had been to their waitress, but his sister didn't want to hear it.
"She told me since I picked her up from her place and since it was my turn paying for the date I should have just done so and drove her back home or given her money for a taxi," he said.
"I wasn't interested in arguing with her so I said I'll send the money to give to her friend and told her god have mercy on both their future boyfriends."
His sister accused him of being a jerk before hanging up the phone. So, he's left wondering if it was mean of him to leave this girl behind on their date with no way to get home or pay for her food.
