North Carolina law enforcement is currently searching for an inmate who was accidentally released from jail early.
Quay Davis was in the middle of serving his third prison term in Charlotte when he was released.

He also has a history of escaping in the past, as he once cut off his ankle monitor while awaiting trial.
Davis was supposed to be in jail for another 2.5 years, but was released after one of his charges was dropped and the Sheriff’s office mistook this for all of his charges being dropped.

Police urge anyone with information regarding Davis’ location to contact them, so he can be returned to jail to finish out his sentence.
