Kentucky State Police received a call for assistance in reference to a drowning. KSP was advised the incident occurred on Bullfork Road in Rowan County.

Eddie Thomas, 80 years of age from Morehead was attempting to cross a swollen tributary in a utility vehicle. The utility vehicle stalled out in the raised water. Mr. Thomas exited the vehicle and attempted to continue to reach the other side of the tributary.
While crossing the raised water, Mr. Thomas was swept away in the current.
Kentucky Mother Accused of Murdering Children Pleads Not Guilty
Rescue teams recovered him and he was then transported to St. Claire Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
This incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
