Authorities in Florida say they arrested a man who had a 3-foot-long alligator that found its way to his neighbor's property. A child playing in a driveway was injured while trying to wrestle the reptile away.
Florida Father Stabs Daughter During Fight
A Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission news release says 41-year-old Juan Jose Santiago was charged with aggravated assault and theft.
Santiago also faces trespassing and petit theft charges in a separate incident.
The child's injury wasn't considered life-threatening but remains hospitalized.
FWC spokesman Rob Klepper said Santiago subdued the alligator and put it in his truck.
The alligator was turned over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
