The menu items at The Egg & I are prepared with fresh ingredients and made from scratch each day. But the real reason to go there is the sense of community you'll find at this Lubbock institution. We know you'll leave feeling ready to take on the world, but you'll also have had a chance to connect with other people who are out there doing the same thing.
The Egg & I is one of those restaurants that makes you feel like you’re in a different city. When you walk in the door, the entire staff is ready with a smile and a greeting—and they mean it! They make you feel right at home, even if you’re not sure what you want to order yet. Sometimes the thing you're craving is the most important ingredient—fellowship. At The Egg & I, you get both of these things in one place.
And once you get to your table, it’s like everything else just fades away. You can talk and laugh with friends, really enjoy yourself without any kind of pretension or worry about being judged for eating too much or too little or having too much fun. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, but also light and airy—like the feeling you have when you know that you’ve made the right choice about what to eat but also made a smart decision because you didn’t.
The restaurant also changed its name to Chicken Run recently.
