ze Wurst is a German food truck that was founded by Giuseppe Gazzana, who started the business because of how much he missed the food from his home. It serves “proper” and traditional German food to the central-Texas community. Their meats are locally sourced and taste-tested. The flavors are all delicious, and some local favorites are the bratwurst, currywurst, giant pretzel (be sure to get the beer cheese!), and schnitzel.
Schnitzel Wagon is another food truck in the Austin area. Their food is all freshly made, and their schnitzel especially is beloved by patrons. The owner is really friendly. Other popular menu items include the spatzle, curry wurst, brats, and fries. All made with fresh ingredients, the food is high quality and delicious.
The Black Forest is an authentic German food truck located in front of the Live Oak Brewing Company, and their food pairs perfectly with the brewing company’s beer. It’s owned by Neil Joiner, who spent considerable time in Germany as a child. They serve comfort food at a fair price, and it comes out quickly. Some of their most popular menu items are pretzels, schnitzelwich, bratwurst, and schnitzel, all served with beautiful presentation.
Scholz Garten has been serving authentic German food in Austin since 1866, and it is the oldest restaurant in Texas. They offer outdoor seating, happy hour specials, a full bar, live sports, and catering. The service is amazing, and the food and drinks are no less impressive.
