Daytime talk show "The Real" has been canceled after eight seasons.

The news was confirmed by co-host Loni Love.

"In the end, The Real cast and crew did everything we could to scale the show down," Love wrote. "We shot 7-8 shows in three days, no audience, made a conference room into a studio, but in my opinion COVID costs killed this show."

Love was one of the original hosts. As was actor Tamera Mowry-Housley, stylist Jeannie Mai and singer Tamar Braxton, who reportedly pitched the idea.

"It's been a great ride and thank you to the studio for allowing eight seasons of show that was Emmy winning and historic. More importantly, thank you to the viewers for riding with us…this is not goodbye, but see you all soon."

Last month, rumors swirled that the show had been canceled. However, at the time, Loni asked viewers to wait for the official word.

"It's been a busy few days but I got a call from the studio…no official decision has been made about #TheReal," she wrote at the time. "I will be ok but please give grace to the 150 crew members this may affect. We will finish season 8 and wait for official word."
