A family in Ohio has filed a wrongful death lawsuit after a man died while serving a six-month prison sentence.
Michael McDaniel was an inmate at a Pickaway correctional facility when he died at 55-years-old.
His sister has claimed that his death was a result of excessive force from officers and denial of medical treatment.
There were five excessive force incidents reported against McDaniel, with one occurring while he was in a medical unit.
The officers involved were reported disciplined, but McDaniel’s sister stated it was not enough, which prompted the lawsuit.
