San Gabriel, Los Angeles County: One man was killed and one person was wounded in a shooting in San Gabriel late Wednesday evening.
San Gabriel Police Department officers responded to a call of shots fired at approximately 8:00 p.m. on the 1400 block of Prospect Avenue.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located a male gunshot victim approximately 40 years old who was later determined to be deceased, according to Lieutenant Vincent Ursini with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau who was interviewed at the scene.
Ursini said that a second victim who was transported to a nearby hospital is believed to be connected to the shooting. Police are unsure how that individual was transported.
The motive of the shooting is unknown at this time. Detectives are looking for witnesses in the area.
