Sun Valley, Los Angeles: The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner has identified the body found on a Sun Valley Street as 55-year-old Luis Garcia.
A body was discovered near an SUV on Saturday morning, Jan. 15, in Sun Valley, a Los Angeles neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region. According to police, the victim suffered multiple stab wounds.
Los Angeles Police Department Foothill division officers and paramedics were called around 7:50 a.m. to the intersection of Cleon Avenue and Stagg Street for a man down. Upon arrival, responders found a body facing down on the street in front of a blue Ford Expedition.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to LAPD. His name was not immediately released pending notification of next of kin.
During dispatch, LAPD received a call prior to the second call regarding a disturbance. One of the neighbors said the SUV had been parked there for awhile. The intersection was blocked off for investigation. LAPD officers were knocking on doors and seen talking to neighbors regarding the incident.
