A man found himself a trending topic on Monday morning after he posted a seemingly harmless tweet regarding the Jamaican's love of rice and peas.

"How did Jamaicans fool the world into thinking rice & peas is nice?," he tweeted.

Of course, the tweet sparked debate before taking a serious turn as one Twitter used raised his disturbing past.

"Have some shame," the woman tweeted alongside a screenshot of an article about the man's alleged criminal past.

The article, titled "How Harlow man Ebbz Artez who tried to rape a woman in a car park was brought to justice," was published on EssexLive.

The article reads that Ebbs Artez, 25, of Milwards, was found guilty by a jury at Chelmsford Crown Court on November 22, 2019, of attempting to rape the woman in a car park months prior.

He reportedly told the police that he "did not penetrate" his victim.

The victim says she had been on a night out with her friends at a local bar before leaving the club early hours of the morning.

She said she had gotten in a taxi to go home, but we shared it with a man, identified as Artez. She says he "was OK at first but then got aggressive and pinned me up against a wall in a car park by my wrists'."

When police arrested Artez hours later, he said: "If it's about last night, I cannot remember, I was drunk." He continued, "I know for a fact I didn't penetrate her," adding, "For the first 20 minutes I tried to help her."
