Woman's Day reported that Pfeiffer was wallowing in the muck of avarice. She was jealous of Kidman's ability to become one of television's highest-paid actresses as a result of her work with Kelley. Even though Pfeiffer was aware that no romance was developing between Kidman and Kelley, she still required the 9 Ideal Strangers star to leave her partner on its own.
