Christmas night, boxing fans across the country watched as 19-year-old 147-pound welterweight Vito Mielnicki, Jr.,of Roseland, defeated Nicholas DeLomba after a 10th-round Technical Knockout (TKO). The main event took place at Prudential Center in Newark and was broadcast nationally on FOX.

As an amateur, Mielnicki had a 147-22 record and in 2018 he qualified for USA Boxing’s Junior National Team. At that point he and his father, promoter Vito Mielnicki Sr., decided that it was time for him to fight professionally; as of last night he's only been defeated once.“
