Hugo Bucci, formerly of Upper Darby, has become all things bathroom in Philadelphia.

“Philly bathrooms are officially my legacy. Wouldn’t have it any other way,” Bucci joked in a Reddit post.

The 29-year-old data analyst created Where2Go, a free iPhone app that shows you where public bathrooms are in Philadelphia, writes Michaela Winberg for Billy Penn.

Users can add new locations and rate and review the bathrooms. More than 200 have chimed in so far. Bucci reported on Reddit that in this past week, 100 plus bathrooms have been added.

“The response has been better than I could have ever imagined,” he wrote Monday on Reddit. “Thanks to all of you who added!”

The app shows you a Philadelphia street grid with tiny toilet icons, but more detail and locations are constantly being added.  New features will show you the bathrooms closest to you, whether a bathroom really is publicly available, and ADA and other accessibility questions.

Bucci, who suffers from IBS, got the app idea when he suddenly had to exit the El at 13th Street and run to Macy’s.

“I know there are many others like me,” Bucci said. “And I decided to do something about it.”
