A woman from Buffalo, New York, has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of her 90-year-old grandmother.
Prosecutors say police responded to a 911 call to attend a domestic dispute at a home on Highgate Avenue just after 11 a.m. on Sunday. When officers arrived, they allegedly found Harris and the body of the 90-year-old woman in the living room.
Officers found the woman dead "under suspicious circumstances," Deputy Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia said.
After executing a search warrant, two loaded guns were also found.
The alleged shooter was identified as 40-year-old Jamien L. Harris. She was taken in and charged with one count of criminal possession of a firearm.
The Erie County Medical Examiner's Office determined that the elderly woman died from a gunshot wound to the chest, and her death has been ruled as a homicide. The victim's name has not been released to the public.
According to WKBW, Harris is being held without bail "pending the results of a forensic examination." Harris faces four years in prison if convicted of the gun charge.
More charges could follow.
