It was such a surprise!

I had to take a photo or no one would have believed me.

I was very in-tune with the Divine that day apparently.

After leaving my job in Atlanta and before moving to Florida in 2014, I was writing in my “Jesus Journals.” This was specific to me and I wanted to try it out, the same way that Neale Donald Walsh did, with his “Conversations With God” books. So, I asked a question then got an answer. I was getting a lot of “all is well. Better things are coming your way. J”

Needless to say, I was lost and didn’t know what my new life would be like in retirement. I did not have another job lined up when I moved my whole household to Florida. I did not know what I was going to do for money other than the social security check I was getting each month. At leased I was going to get that.

The Move

My daughter and granddaughter were living in Florida and my daughter suggested we move down from Georgia so she would have some family close-by. I knew I needed a big change and my boys agreed. She didn’t say anything about money and how she needed it.

She found a house that was a lot more expensive than any in Atlanta with the same square footage. But she didn’t have time to look for anything that was less expensive and I didn’t know what I was getting into. It belonged to a friend of hers.

It was time for others to pitch in and pay the expenses for awhile. I was 64 at the time and had worked for 50 years. My twin sons got jobs and my daughter moved in.

The relationships

Long distance, she and I had always gotten along. Now, up close and personal, that was a surprise for both of us. Needless to say we didn’t get along that well. She had issues about money and so did I. My retirement payout was gone in January of the next year because I paid for the move, paid for the truck and gasoline to move 634 miles, paid first/last/security deposit for the house, paid the air fair for someone to help us, new driver’s licenses for all of us, new tag for the car, new car and renter’s insurance, new this and new that. I never bought anything personal. I never squandered the payout money. It all added up and it went. So in the end I was blamed for not paying my fair share of expenses. Hey, I paid out more than everyone. This was the feeling every month after that.

The jobs

Because I was pressured to do so, I worked for some small companies, but the stress of learning, of physical labor and low pay just didn’t rub me the right way.

I found a company that wanted to send out “thank you” cards to their clients. I would be paid $.35 a card and they gave me 400 a week to finish. I did this at my house on my schedule each day for about a year. And I made around $140 a week. hat was better than nothing at all. I only had to get the cards back to them in a timely manner each week to be paid.

Then, they were bought by a bigger company and started making weird demands, such as: “Change your font. Slow down! Watch your spelling!” etc., etc. I was handwriting these cards and setting deadlines each day to finish a certain amount. I couldn’t “change my font” as my handwriting was my handwriting and was always fine before the company takeover. I realized it was not worth it anymore after a year.

The flowers

We moved into the house in Sunrise, Florida around September 1, Labor Day weekend. I received the flowers on September 25.

I was writing that day in my Jesus Journals. One of my answers was that “Gabriel has a big surprise for you.” I didn’t know what that meant but I was excited to know.

That very same day, my daughter came home early with a huge bouquet of flowers. It was just a few minutes after I got the above message. She brought them in and apparently they were heavy because she was huffing and puffing, carrying them. I was shocked as you might think. I asked her where she had gotten them. She said, “this guy was bugging me all day to buy them. He really wanted me to the buy them, so I did.” She also said he had given her a huge discount, as well.

I couldn’t believe my eyes. There was every variety of flower in the large vase they were in. It stood at least four feet high and there were so many colors. The best thing was that they were all fresh and new.

As you can see there was such a variety. Sunflowers, roses, bird of paradise, hydrangeas, lilies, irises, carnations, daisies, and more. They were all in a huge green vase. I loved the variety. It was as if someone knew me and what I liked. Those flowers lasted for about a month. It was huge.

I have never had this happen to me in all my life. They were so beautiful. I thanked whomever was responsible for the beautiful gift.

I told my daughter what I was doing and how they came about and she blew it off.

The best part, they came out of nowhere. I should try this more often.
