Slowly but surely, National Career Development Month is coming to an end, but before it does, I want to share another opportunity to increase not only your career wellness but your life wellness.

But, first, let’s cover a few basic points.

What is National Career Development Month?

According to the National Day Calendar, “National Career Development Month in November signals a time for students and employees to focus on their (current or) future career choices” - making this an ideal time to embark on personal and professional development to help boost your current career or future career.

What is Career-Wellness?

With this in mind, let’s cover career-wellness. According to My American Nurse, Career wellness can be defined as engaging in work that provides personal satisfaction and enrichment and that's consistent with your values, goals, and lifestyle.

What is Lifebook Online?

This is where taking the free Lifebook Masterclass comes in. Lifebook is a transformational lifestyle design program that empowers you to envision, plan, and achieve your ultimate life.

It’s designed to help you create your ultimate life on your own terms, and nobody else’s. It allows you to discover your vision and bring you into the reality of all 12 categories of life - which includes your career path and career-wellness.

I completed the 90-minute masterclass in 2019. And, after watching the course, I immediately wanted to work through the assessment to see where I fell in terms of quality of life in each of the 12 categories.

From there, I was curious to work through the worksheets that were provided. And, what do you know?

Slowly but surely, I began to design my ideal life. What I learned was that the process was simple and effective, as long as you are willing to put the work in.

Not only this, but I chose and choose my own words to describe my life. And, we all know that well-chosen words motivate, provide hope, and empower you.

Although the course was only an hour and a half, it’s really up to you on how much time you dedicate towards working through the worksheets and making your own notes. I used several weeks in September to work through mine.

For each of the 12 categories of life, I consciously planned the way I wanted to live my life, including the career I wanted to have, as well as other projects I wanted to pursue and why.

Knowing your why is so important.

In fact, there is a quote that states, “All successful people know their why.” I’m not sure who the author is, but it certainly stands out as an impactful quote in my life.

Recently, for National Career Development Month, I decided to revisit the course and make some revisions to my 2019 Lifebook, especially in terms of my career wellness.

I want to make sure that I am staying in alignment and thriving with the professional goals and life that I have planned for myself.

Final Thoughts and 12 Categories of Life

Last but not least, I’m sure you are wondering what are the other categories of life that the masterclass covers. The 12 Lifebook categories based on the Masterclass include the following:
