COVID-19 is resurging once again in Pennsylvania, pushing the number of confirmed cases in Bucks County up and keeping it at a very high level, according to The New York Times.
Last week, there was a countywide average of 157 reported, new, daily cases reported, a 31 percent increase compared with two weeks prior. Since the start of the pandemic, at least 1 in 8 residents has been infected by COVID-19, totaling 75,231 reported cases.
The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 has fallen in the Bucks County area in the last two weeks. Deaths, however, have increased, with 27 new fatalities over the same period.
Due to these developments, Bucks County remains at very high risk for unvaccinated people.
On a positive note, the number of fully vaccinated people in the county also continues to increase. It is now at 66 percent. This population includes 75 percent of fully vaccinated residents aged 12 and up and 89 percent of fully vaccinated people aged 65 and up.
