Mr. Elton Sharpe, Vidalia
Mr. Elton Sharpe, age 81, of Vidalia, died Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Hazlehurst Court Care and Rehab after an extended illness. He was a native of the Rock Springs Community in Toombs County and was a graduate of Toombs Central School. He earned an Associate degree from Berry College in Rome and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Valdosta State University. Mr. Sharpe was a certified public accountant, working with Piggly Wiggly Southern for fifteen years and with Tom Moore and Associates for twelve years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving four years and was a former member of the Vidalia Lions Club. He was a member of the Vidalia Church of God where he served on the Finance Committee. He was devoted to his family, and he enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-one years, Linda Sharpe; an infant son, Stephen Elton Sharpe; and parents, Roscoe Sharpe and Eliza Grace Joyce Sharpe. Read more
