Local farm to begin winter market season
CARIBOU, Maine — Micmac Farms will host biweekly winter markets on Saturdays, beginning Oct. 23 and going through Dec. 18. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and close at 1 p.m. There will be a blend of vendors at each market, from home knitters to Maine made teas, all the way to eco-friendly self-care items. Read more
Aroostook County man arrested on arson charge
CONNOR TOWNSHIP, Maine — A local man was arrested Thursday evening on a charge of arson stemming from a fire at the Celebrate Recovery building in Caribou. Douglas Ouellette, 36, of Connor Township was arrested in connection with the fire, according to officials. Read more

Fire at Landmark Caribou Church Building Deemed ‘Suspicious’
A fire that damaged a section of an historic church building in Caribou Thursday afternoon is under investigation. The Caribou Fire Department responded to the blaze at 3 Grove Street around 3:30 p.m. with 11 crew members and three trucks, according to Capt. Scott Jackson. Smoke could be seen coming from a back office when crews arrived and firefighters broke a window to get at the flames. Read more
