Thursday Prep Roundup: Scrappy Hoquiam beats Elma in four sets
Though they didn’t play at peak performance, the Hoquiam Grizzlies fought and clawed their way to a 25-19, 25-20, 20-25 and 25-14 victory over Elma on Thursday in Hoquiam. “For us tonight, it was about finding our footing after losing one of our family to injury,” Hoquiam head coach Heather Bozich said, referencing middle blocker Chloe Kennedy, who is out with a partially-torn ACL suffered earlier this week. “I thought our serve-receive could have been much better, but we played well during out-of-system balls.” Read more
