(QUEENS, N.Y.) Queens officials apprehended a Bronx man facing accusations of murdering his former attorney in his office last week, according to AM New York.

Nando Perez, 64, of East 167th Street, is facing charges including murder and criminal possession of a weapon for the Thursday killing of Charles Zolot, 65, a Kew Gardens local who worked as a lawyer in Jackson Heights.

Police said Zolot was found with stab wounds to the torso and face in his office at 37-06 82nd St. at around 5:50 a.m. on Aug. 5. Emergency medical services declared him dead at the scene.

Sources close to the investigation said the two men were involved in a prior dispute. Officials did not say what led to their altercation. Perez was identified as a former client of Zolot.

Law enforcement sources did not disclose how Perez was involved in the homicide throughout the investigation.

Court records show Perez was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on Monday, and he is being held without bail. Perez is scheduled for a court appearance on Friday.
