LaQuanta Riley was always known to be a lively and personable young girl. In 2003, LaQuanta was in the process of preparing to go off to college to pursue a career in forensics. She had planned on getting her degree in Criminal Justice. On the evening of December 7, 2003, LaQuanta decided to go out with a friend she had met in her great-aunt’s neighborhood, where she had just moved, to live with her great-aunt. (The friend is still unknown at this time.) The friend then drove LaQuanta to her mother’s home to pick up a heavier coat. This was the last moment that anyone would see LaQuanta. LaQuanta’s aunt Katie did hear from LaQuanta several times by phone up until the afternoon of December 7, 2003, however, Katie was out of town during this time. During the call LaQuanta mentioned that she was not getting along with her uncle but that she was fine.

After not having contact with LaQuanta for 2 days her family contacted law enforcement and notified them that she was last seen in a green, four-door, Taurus or Caprice. Her family jumped into action and began putting up missing persons flyers all over Montgomery. They even conducted searches of their own in hopes of any signs of LaQuanta. The frustration was growing amongst family due to no leads coming forward to law enforcement.

LaQuanta’s mom received a message about 2 weeks later from her daughter. She could not tell whether her daughter was saying, “Let me go home” or “Leave me alone”. She then heard an unknown male say her daughter’s name and then the call was disconnected. Her mother immediately notified law enforcement however, they were unable to trace the number. Law enforcement immediately began searching the area for LaQuanta and entered her into NCIC. Law enforcement ran into dead end after dead end with getting information from anyone due to them being unwilling to speak.

Today LaQuanta’s mother continues to advocate and search for her daughter. She also asks that anyone who knows any information comes forward with information for detectives. If you have any information that can assist in this case, please contact Montgomery Police Department at 334-241-2350.
