North Carolina Tot Shot in Road Rage Crossfire

North Carolina State News by Ken Fulton, Southeast Crime and Justice Bureau Chief

A 4-year-old North Carolina girl was caught in the crossfire of two road-raging adults in Granville County.

Officers from the Granville County Sheriff's Office said it happened in the parking lot of a grocery store. Two road ragers fired shots at each other from their respective vehicles.

One driver was wounded, along with a little girl who was a passenger in the vehicle. The driver and the little girl were rushed to Duke Hospital in Durham for treatment.

Police remain tight-lipped about the incident. Authorities have not released the names of the shooters, the number of people in each vehicle, or their relationships with each other. No one has been charged in the shooting yet, as law enforcement continues to review surveillance footage from the grocery store’s cameras as part of the investigation.

Should adults who put kids in harm's way in road rage incidents be prosecuted? Let us know what you think.
